The Checks feature is part of our Pro Plan and higher.
With the Checks feature you can make sure that your translators follow your syntax and key specifications and immediately see any violations for each project.
You can find the checks tab in the dashboard of each project, and you can also immediately see if you have any violations in this view.
There are three Checks feature available:
- Length validation
- Placeholder usage
- Glossary usage
The default setting for all Checks is the moderate mode and all locales.
In the settings tab of the Checks dashboard, you can change those settings.
You have the option to apply the scan for violations in either moderate mode, or in the strict mode.
When the moderate mode is activated, users will still be able to save translations and violations will be shown in the Checks Issues List.
When the strict mode is activated, users won't be able to save translations violating this rule through the editor anymore, and violations will also be shown as issues in the Issues List.
You can also select certain locales to apply the feature to, by choosing them in the dropdown menu.
You can set those settings individually for each Checks feature, and you can also filter your Checks Issues List for specific Checks only.
With the length validation feature, you can prevent that translators are surpassing the maximum character limit that is set for a key.
If there is a maximum character length set for a key, it will shown within the editor, how many characters are left for the translation.
If the strict mode is enabled, it will not be possible save a translation that is extending the maximum character length of a key.
With the placeholder usage feature, you can check if translators are using all placeholders correctly or if there are any placeholders not used, or used incorrectly.
If the strict mode is enabled, it will not be able to save a translation where a placeholder has not been inserted.
With the glossary usage feature, you can check if the correct glossary terms defined for the project are being used for translations.
If the strict mode is enabled, it will not be possible to save translations that are not matching the given glossary term.
